BT4B Blowing Head

The Blown Fibre Blowing Head BT4B is an updated version of the proven BT4A, specifically designed to install Blown Fibre Unit (BFU) into Blown Fibre Tubing (BFT). The unit has 2 interchangeable feed wheels depending on which type fibre is being installed. The BT4B is fitted with metal top and bottom drive wheels, for installing smooth plastic fibre bundle. However, when installing enhanced performance fibre unit (EPFU) these can to be changed to a rubber drive wheel supplied with the unit.
The 4B incorporates an extremely efficient air delivery system as a result this allows the unit to blow with considerably smaller air compressors, such as the petrol engine driven BT9A or Factair’s BF80E 230V Electric Blown Fibre Compressor, which both weigh under 25Kg. the BT4B is suitable for use with compressors up to a maximum pressure of 15 bar.

Supplied in a tough Peli carry case the 4B comprises the blowing head; dispenser; controller; battery charger; spare battery; 12, 24V vehicle and 240V charging leads; spare tyres; 5 & 8mm closedown assemblies; recovery air diffuser; 2 & 3mm hexagonal head screwdrivers.

Powered by rechargeable battery pack the 4B eliminates the need for a separate power supply. The easy to use control unit incorporates a load facility making it much easier to load the blown fibre unit. During the installation the speed will automatically be adjusted depending on the length of the route and the number of bends. If there is insufficient time during the day to complete an installation the distance and associated forces can be saved allowing you to resume the blow at a later time.

Supplied as standard with a 1.85mm diameter airbox, alternative fibre airboxes sizes are also available.

Should you need to recover blown fibre unit from a route the 4B incorporates a fibre recovery feature. Using the additional 820B kit, air is plugged into the far end and the unit will control the speed of the fibre being recovered from the route.

The blowing head is mounted on a compact dispenser which can be used in tight congested spaces, such as when centre blowing.
