Scotland temporary tunnel ventilation project
Posted on 1st March 2024 at 09:59
Part of Factair's electric and diesel engine ventilation fan fleet were heading off this week for their latest rail tunnel project in Scotland.
Our ventilation systems ensure a safe breathable environment in accordance with the requirements of EH40, whilst renewal work is being undertaken in rail tunnels and confined spaces. Fitted on rotating turntables with a modular container twist lock frame design, these fans are designed for speedy deployment.
Typically these can be positioned adjacent to the tunnel portal in the cess, whilst still providing sufficient airflow to continuously ventilate the tunnel. During the project Factair’s Engineers remain on site to maintain the equipment and measure atmospheric readings within the tunnel to ensure they remain below EH40 limits. At the end of the project a full report is provided, which can be retained by the client confirming a safe breathable working environment was maintained during the project.
